The Hillsboro School District constructed four new elementary schools based on a single design. Each school was approximately 70,000 sq ft with construction cost of $7.5 million. Lighting and power systems evolved as changes were required to accommodate each site and structural and mechanical changes. Each school includes gymnasiums, high-tech multi-media centers, interactive computer laboratory “pods,” full-service kitchens and cafeterias, two stories of classrooms and administrative offices. Electrical consulting services provided through CBG Consulting Engineers to Mahlum Architects (Linda Cameron).
